Spring Update

I've been badly neglecting this blog, so I will try to make a quick but informative post for the family.

Audra is now 1 year old! She is a pistol, a firecracker, a vixen, an angel, and the love of our lives all rolled into one. Her personality becomes more and more apparent by the minute! She is sassy like her mama, mischievous like her daddy, and worst of all- CURIOUS about everything. Well I don't know about "worst" but for me right now, chasing the mad scientist that is Audra Marie it feels like worst. For instance, knocking chairs over just to see me jump and howl for fear for her life, amuses her to no end.

Oh that's right folks, she is WALKING. Audra began taking unassisted steps at a little past 10 months old. Crawling started at 8 months, and quickly progressed in a matter of a week or so to her standing up and using furniture as a go-between. Then again, this child was pulling her head up and looking around the very day she was brought into this world! Her favorite words that I can tell you she definitely knows how to use are: dog, mine, this, that, hot, mama, daddy, and her favorite of all- NO. Her newest obsession is shaking her head "no". Don't believe me? Tell her to sit down, not touch something, or just say no in general and see what happens. You will receive the head shake. And you won't like it! I feel like I'm constantly asking myself, "who is in charge here?" Obviously we all know what the answer is.

We are still breastfeeding, and I'm so glad. We've made it almost to a year and it feels like a huge accomplishment for us both. For me, because if any of you have breastfed a toddler, it is NOT for the faint of heart... or those who don't like getting kicked in the throat. Just kidding! Honestly still having this intimate relationship with her is the best. She loves snuggle time, and sings to me when she's really tired and ready to fall asleep. She still has a tone that she uses only for me, and I really think it's a direct result of the amount of time and close relationship we've developed. I love her more than anything.

As far as our impending move, still nothing new. We'll know sometime in July where we're headed. We can't wait! I'll write more soon, right now I'm battling Audra for control over the laptop and I have school work to do. Hugs!
